10th Anniversary Mix & Match Ball

Midlands Corporate Finance Charity Ball celebrates 10 years on Saturday, 5th June, 2010 at the Botanical Gardens, Birmingham.

Once again we are delighted to be raising money for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation - the charity that brings hope and excitement into the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses, by granting their favourite wishes.

In 2009 the Ball raised 10,500: bringing the total raised during the last nine years to a staggering 107,000 pounds !

Birmingham Y Factor at the The Glee Club

The Great and Good of Birmingham's business community came together in a tunefest last night and raised a staggering 26,000 for MENCAP.

Ed James, top DJ from HEART FM, was Master of Ceremony, leading the way as ten contestants hammered out a eclectic mix of notes, in front of a highly undiscerning panel of minor celebrity judges.

The winner, sporting a Gold sequened jacket, was Nick Leitch of Endless. Nick's special rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" moved many people in many different ways - some of them towards the exits. Some females on the front row were throwing undergarments at him: whether this was a vain attempt to muffle Nick or a gesture of future desires, is unclear.

Others who graced the stage were:

MACPRICE - Brendan McGeever and Nigel Price - "Back In The USSR"
Excellent crowd warmer with Sgt Pepper outfits to match.

THE DOLLY MIXTURES - Donna, Cat, Rachel and Gemma from Maverick TV - "Nine To Five"
Got our pulses racing with this classic Dolly Parton meets French Maid performance. Sublime.

LADIES ALLOWED - Bernie, Wendy and Liz from LloydsTSB - "I Only Want To Be With You"
Full Marks for effort: got our vote for sheer enthusiasm.

PHIL BURNS from Clearwater Corporate Finance - "You Never Can Tell"
...no you can't ! Pure Rock and Roll !

MARK BEARDMORE from DLA Piper LLP - "Amarillo"
Mark came in bang on cue and went all the way.

RICHARD EDWARDS from Deloitte LLP - "Sit Down"
Despite the invitation, nobody actually did sit down. This was standing ovation.

ANDY PARKER from PWC - "The Boys Are Back In Town"
A very difficult song to perform, particularly so when accompanied by a load of scousers.

KEVIN JOYNES from Pinsent Masons - "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me"
An epic ballad that didn't leave a dry eye in the club, expertly delivered by George Elton Michael Joynes.

ANDY BIRD from Barclays Corporate - "Let Me Entertain You"
Well-rehearsed and expertly costumed. Robbie would have been proud.

Christmas at the JAM HOUSE !

Dressed as various Christmas characters, the band set the scene by performing a 120 second nativity, before launching into a mammoth Rock & Roll set.

Reports have been coming in that it was the best and loudest gig yet: our loyal groupies entered the Christmas Spirit like never before and pogoed until the cows came home. All-in-all a superb night out with about 9000 big ones going to the Acorns and Starfish charities.

Look forward to seeing you all next year !

The Demons Of Tune return to The Jam House !

Normally only our four Vocalists dress up at gigs: the musicians that stand behind them are obliged to wear black and not say a word. But this time we want EVERYONE to dress up, in their best Seventies gear - including YOU, our lovely lovely audience. We chose the Seventies because 92.3% of the Band remember the Seventies, they still have a wardrobe full of gear and this is a rare chance to wear it without inviting too much ridicule.
