Who are The Demons of Tune ?

We are a 13 strong band of musicians who get together, every now and then, to play for charity.

When did it all start ?

The band's first gig was at the Birmingham finance community's "Mix and Match" Ball at the Botanical Gardens in 2000, as support for the main act. During this performance, volunteers from the audience were invited to join the Demons on stage to sing. It was all over in 20 minutes...

Since then the Demons have performed every year at the ball and also at numerous other charity gigs. Our repertoire has expanded so much, we can now belt out a ninety-minute set without stopping, consisting of a varied mixture of contemporary tunes, old favourites, heavy rock, crooning ballads, girl-power anthems and a few which defy description.

We have played at: The Edgbaston Cricket Ground (very nice), a back-garden (it rained), a tiny village hall built for Munchkins (we were too loud), A tent in Barnt Green (a very big tent) and various nightclubs, including regular appearances at The Jam House in St Paul's Square.

Are we professional ?

Well of course we sound professional, so it may surprise you to learn that the Demons are amateur musicians ! We have to earn a living via proper day-jobs in various professions across the Midlands.

So remember: everything the Demons do we do for charity.

And finally...

The Demons would not exist if it were not for the musical talents, enthusiasm, wit and ingenuity of the Bands founder: the late, great Harry Jeavons-Fellows. We remember him with every note we play: including the wrong ones...

God Bless H.
